PACE and Power of Positive Parenting host discussion group on Oct. 18
Parents Advocating for Children with Exceptional Abilities (PACE) is hosting a discussion group from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at The Roosevelt Building, 621 Mount Vernon Road. The group will discuss "Dealing with Disobedience" and how to deal with disobedience when it happens. There will be free pizza and free childcare for children under 10. NHS Bowling to host golf outing on Oct. 2
The Newark High School Bowling Team is hosting a 4-person scramble golf outing at 9 a.m. on Sun., Oct. 2, at Kyber Run Golf Course in Johnstown. The outing costs $60 per person or $240 per team, which includes green fees, cart, food and door prizes. NHS, McGuffey earn All American School Awards
Newark High School and McGuffey Elementary recently earned the American Legion Auxiliary All American School Awards at the state level. NHS won in the high school division, while McGuffey won in the elementary division. The NHS Air Force Jr. ROTC competed in the American Legion Auxiliary All American High School Contest that led to the award. This is the third consecutive year the high school has won the award; it is the first time McGuffey has won. 
Newark Booster Club Golf Outing set for Sept. 25
The annual Newark Booster Club golf outing will tee off at 9 a.m. on Sept. 25, at the Licking Springs Golf Course. The 4-person scramble costs $60 per player, or $240 per team, and includes golf, cart and food. The deadline for registration is Sept. 19, and checks can be made payable to Newark Athletic Boosters.
