Register now for the Kindergarten Readiness Academy
Register now for the Kindergarten Readiness Academy
Newark City Schools' Kindergarten Readiness Academy is a four-week program geared toward helping incoming kindergarten students become more comfortable in a school setting, while exposing students to letters, numbers, literature, science, math and art concepts. The academy meets from 9 a.m. to noon four days per week beginning the week of July 9 and ending on August 2. It is offered at four locations: Ben Franklin Elementary; Carson Elementary, where Hillview students can also attend; John Clem Elementary, where Legend students can also attend; and McGuffey Elementary, where Cherry Valley students can attend. Registration preference is given to incoming students who have not had previous preschool experience. NCS providing lunches for school-aged children on Mondays and Fridays in June
A Newark City Schools bus will be visiting various spots across the district to provide free lunches to school-aged children, from ages 2 to 18, on Mondays and Fridays from June 4 through June 29.  Staff members will be available to answer questions about registering for school, as well as for our Kindergarten Academy. The Academy runs for four days per week in July. Click here for more information on the Kindergarten Readiness Academy. Newark Lacrosse will be holding free non-contact clinics this summer at White Field for Newark City Schools athletes grades 7-12 from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, June 12, June 19, June 26 and July 10. Newark Lacrosse will host a Free Mini-Camp from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, June 29 and 30, at White Field. This camp is for incoming 7-12 grade athletes in Licking County.

More than 380 members of the Class of 2018 walked across the stage at White Field on Saturday, May 26.
