Wilson Middle School Closed Mon., Oct. 15
Wilson Middle School will be closed today due to the power outage. Students are currently at McGuffey Elementary. If you would like to pick your child up from the school, you may pick them up from McGuffey. Any students who are not picked up following elementary bus routes will be bussed home. If your child normally walks home, he or she may walk home. If you have any questions, you can contact McGuffey at 740-670-7140. Thank you and have a great day!

Congratulations to our citizens of the month for October 2018. Every month, Newark City Schools recognizes 30 students from across the district who are good students inside and outside of the classroom. This month, Park National Bank sponsored the lunch, while NHS Sinfonia performed for the students and their families. Charpie receives Leaders for Learning Award
Fourth-year Newark High School English teacher Alison Charpie was awarded with the Licking County Foundation's Leaders for Learning Award for 2018. Superintendent Doug Ute, Principal Tom Bowman and representatives from the foundation presented Charpie with the award. The Leaders for Learning Award was created by the Licking County Foundation in 1993 to honor school teachers who exemplify excellence in their fields.  Read More...

Cheerleaders hosting clinic on Oct. 19
Students in grades 1 through 6 can learn cheers and dance moves from Newark High School Cheerleaders during the Cheerleading Clinic from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, in the NHS Auxiliary Gym. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and costs $30. The fee includes a pizza lunch, drink and a T-shirt. Interested students can pre-register through the athletic office by filling out this form. Support Newark athletics by purchasing a brick at White Field
Become a permanent part of Paul "Hoss" Starr Stadium at White Field by purchasing a personalized brick that will be displayed at the stadium.  The athletic department is raising money to renovate/replace the press box at Paul "Hoss" Starr Stadium at White Field through a personalized brick. NHS Orchestra Spaghetti Dinner Coming on Oct. 18
The Newark Orchestra Parents Association's annual Spaghetti Dinner is set for 6 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 18, in the NHS commons and auditorium. Students in grades 6-12 will perform throughout the evening in the auditorium, while the dinner is held in the Commons. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and $5 for performance-only. Attention all future Wildcat Basketball Players, registration for the 5th and 6th grade Newark Boys Basketball League is underway.
