Kindergarten Readiness Academy expands districtwideIncoming kindergarten students now have the option to attend a five-week Kindergarten Readiness Academy across the district. If you have not registered your child for kindergarten this fall, please visit this page to learn how to register him or her.

The Kindergarten Readiness Academy is a five-week program meant to assist new students in becoming comfortable in a school setting, while exposing students to letters, numbers, literature, science, math and art concepts. Preference will be given to incoming kindergarten students who have not had previous preschool experience.

The program is three days per week for five weeks, beginning on July 5. The dates are: July 5, 6, 7; 11, 12, 13; 18, 19, 20; 25, 26, 27; and August 1, 2, 3 from 9 a.m. until noon. Breakfast and lunchtime snacks will be served.

Academies will be located in four of our buildings. Register according to the school the student will be attending for the 2017-18 school year:
  • Ben Franklin Elementary students will attend Ben Franklin
  • Carson and Hillview will attend Carson
  • John Clem and Legend will attend John Clem
  • Cherry Valley and McGuffey will attend McGuffey
