Starting Conversations: Drug addiction forum
On Wednesday, April 26, we are inviting the community to start and continue a conversation on the impact of drugs in our community and across the nation.

Wayne Campbell, of Tyler's Light, will speak that evening in the Newark High School Auditorium on the topic, alongside a panel of other expers on the issue. We invite everyone to the Newark High School Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. on April 26 to join the conversation.

Initially, national Author and Journalist Sam Quinones was set to speak that night. He had an unexpected health issue, and we hope to invite him back in the fall. Sam's book, Dreamland, chronicles the spread of opiates and heroin throughout the nation, from the impact of pharmaceutical drugs like OxyContin to the influx of black tar heroin originating from the small county, Xalisco, Nayarit, in Mexico.

We will hold events throughout the day, related to increasing the awareness of drugs in the community.

We invite everyone to the Newark High School Auditorium at 6:30 p.m. on April 26 to hear a panel of experts on the issue.
