Newark Marching Band qualifies for state competition for 39th straight year

The 2018 Pride of Newark Marching Band began the season with a bang! The band qualified for OMEA State Marching Band Finals for a STATE RECORD 39th consecutive season on their first attempt of the season. NHS Director of Bands Lee Auer, in his 3rd year in the position, stated that “The band has worked so hard this season from the very first day of leadership training, through band camp, and up to now, it is so wonderful to see the students rewarded for their efforts so early in the season.” Mr. Auer also pointed out the tireless efforts of the instructional and design staff for the bands early-season success.
