Youth Softball Registration set for Feb. 6, 11 and 23
Newark Youth Softball is holding student registration from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thurs., Feb. 6, and Tues., Feb. 11, in the Newark High School Auxiliary Gym. Seniors and parents of seniors, don't forget to submit a senior portrait to the 2019 NHS Reveille yearbook. E-mail your high-quality image to nhsyearbook@laca.org, or just drop off a print to the main office. The picture does not have to be taken in a studio or by a professional. It just has to be a clear shot of the student. If the yearbook does not receive a portrait by Jan. 18, the student's school photo from the fall will be used.  Read More...

District to add text messages to all-call service
With winter approaching, the Newark City School District is adding text messages to our notification service. The district uses SchoolMessenger to communicate important messages to families, including closings, delays and other announcements. Beginning on November 19, text messages will be added to the ways we communicate with families. At 5 p.m. on Nov. 19, families with cell phones will receive a text message from the number, 67587, asking if they would like to receive text messages. Every month, Newark City Schools honors 30 students in grades 4 through 12 in each of our buildings as Citizens of the Month. Students are chosen not only for their work inside the classroom, but also their leadership outside the classroom. This month's luncheon was sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Newark, Ohio.
