Mr. Tom Bline has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1988. He is currently employed by the defense department as an accountant.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and teaching certification from Denison University in 1977 and studied accounting at Ohio State University.
Bline owned and operated childcare centers in the Newark/Heath area for 20 years. The centers participated in the Head Start and Early Learning Initiative programs.
Mr. Bline was appointed to the Newark Board of Education in January 2007. In November 2007, he was elected to a two-year term. After leaving the board after 2009, Mr. Bline was elected to a four-year term in 2011.
From 1989-2007, he was a Board of Trustee of the Licking and Knox Counties Goodwill Industries. Since 1987, he has been a trustee of the Welsh Hills Cemetery Board.
Mr. Bline and his wife Lu have two grown children, Leslie and Mark, who each graduated from Newark High School.
